Blinds are forced bets posted by the two players left of the dealer button before any cards are dealt. The small blind is half the minimum bet and the big blind is the full minimum, creating a pot to compete for each hand.

Community cards are dealt face-up in the centre of the table and shared by all players. Texas Hold'em uses five community cards—the flop, turn and river—that combine with your two hole cards to make the strongest five-card hand.

Short Deck removes all cards ranked two through five from the deck, leaving thirty-six cards. A flush beats a full house in Short Deck because flushes are harder to complete with fewer cards of each suit in play.

The pot is the total amount of chips bet by all players during a single hand. The player with the strongest hand at showdown, or the last player remaining after others fold, wins the entire pot minus any platform fee.

An ante is a small forced bet every player at the table posts before the cards are dealt, in addition to or instead of blinds. Antes build the pot faster and encourage more action on each hand.

Going all-in means betting every chip you have left. Once you push all-in you cannot be forced out of the hand for lack of chips, and you compete only for the portion of the pot that existed when you bet.
